Stefan Edberg – Sweden – Born 19-Jan-1966

Except for the French Open, where he was runner up in 1989, Stefan Edberg won all of the Grand Slams twice. He also had a major rivalry with Boris Becker, particularly at Wimbledon, winning in 1988 and 1980 during a run of meeting him in three consecutive finals.

Like Becker, Stefan Edberg is generally thought of as one of the greatest serve and volley players of all time. Many people also feel that his backhand had ‘textbook’ technique, while he was renowned for his movement on court.
